Education & Outreach

  • Presentations and Trainings: Presentations and in-depth trainings on lead poisoning prevention are available for all ages and backgrounds. The Coalition’s Outreach Department is available to conduct these sessions statewide with an emphasis on parents, caregivers, childcare providers, community associations and children.
  • Educational Materials: Materials are available upon request. Maryland’s famous Derek the Dinosaur appears in his very own coloring book, Derek the Dinosaur’s Coloring Book About Lead, and other Maryland specific brochures and handouts are available. For a complete listing contact the outreach department.
  • Training Modules: Available in our Teacher and Childcare section, the Coalition offers training modules for statewide and national use. These modules make lead education easy. The Outreach department is available to provide support and answer questions as needed.
  • Maryland Lead Poisoning Prevention Listserv: A direct, constant communication between lead advocates from Western Maryland to the Eastern Shore. The Listserv is used for discussion, questions and answer, sharing information, news and events and to foster cross collaboration.
  • Maryland Lead Poisoning Prevention Partnership: The MLPPP meets monthly in Baltimore, bringing lead advocates from across the state and region together to learn and discuss national best practices, local successes, and collaborate to ensure effective, unified action. These meetings are open to the public, check the Coalition calendar for the next date.
